970 miles in 15 and a half hours: further faster than the best day on the way out. It's beatable, but one would have to plan and execute flawlessly. Like fill up the night before and get out of where ever you are within an hour of getting up. 2 tops. Then nail it. Oh and don't try it when you've got a lot of slow states in front of you. And a path with a bunch of cities on it, but really once you got locals on the road with you everyone speeds up. Retro-birds on the road: A New York bird - red with a black ragtop up - on Long Island. Driver waved. Sister was sort of amazed at that, but there ain't exactly a lot of retro birds out there. A Pennsylvania bird - grey with a grey hard top, PA plate '66ROUTE' - In New York. Stuck in the traffic jam from hell waiting for all lanes on the George Washington Bridge to open up again. An ?Arkansas? bird in Arkansas. Blue(?) with a white top. We played in traffic for many fast miles. Three other retro T-birds seen by me on this road trip, and I'll bet you none of them can claim 970 miles in 15 and a half hours. Google says 1290 miles left. 2 days. 700 tomorrow should be realistic.
