970 miles in 15.5 hours

:D 970 miles in 15 and a half hours: further faster than the best day on the way out. It's beatable, but one would have to plan and execute flawlessly. Like fill up the night before and get out of where ever you are within an hour of getting up. 2 tops. Then nail it. Oh and don't try it when you've got a lot of slow states in front of you. And a path with a bunch of cities on it, but really once you got locals on the road with you everyone speeds up. Retro-birds on the road: A New York bird - red with a black ragtop up - on Long Island. Driver waved. Sister was sort of amazed at that, but there ain't exactly a lot of retro birds out there. A Pennsylvania bird - grey with a grey hard top, PA plate '66ROUTE' - In New York. Stuck in the traffic jam from hell waiting for all lanes on the George Washington Bridge to open up again. An ?Arkansas? bird in Arkansas. Blue(?) with a white top. We played in traffic for many fast miles. Three other retro T-birds seen by me on this road trip, and I'll bet you none of them can claim 970 miles in 15 and a half hours. Google says 1290 miles left. 2 days. 700 tomorrow should be realistic.

lotsa miles

Pretty much on the 11 hour mark and I've got a bit over 660 miles behind me. 920 in 16 came from an average of 57 per, so right now I'm about 40 miles ahead of that pace. But I'm not moving because I'm waiting for a waffle from Waffle House. Here in ... Tennessee.

This is taking forever. Oh well. At least the speed limit is up to 70mph. Lots of cops in Ohio by the way. Everybody drove the speed limit, and slowed down when they saw a cop in the highway median. Ohio is cool except for that. Tennessee is cool too. Cheap gas, lots of green, and road trips starting from the middle of the country are funner. Gonna have to look around a bit online and see what's up with jobs I can make a lot of money at in this area.

This Waffle House sucks. Slow slow slow slow SLOW! How long can it possibly take to crank out a waffle and hash browns at Waffle House? One would think it'd be like a specialty thing instead of ... whatever it is that takes way too long to make.

Hey I'm leeching a signal from Days Inn! I don't know where they are but --- food!

New Plan: go fly. That means get home, and that means get off I80. Looks like I78 then I71 are going to be my new friends today. Today being a potential record setter even though I've been up and putzing about for 3 hours. I wonder how stuff looks in this skin? Like a link too long to fit EDIT: long links break the skin will do what? Also I oughta upload a picture that's too big for this skin then post it. Just to see. Because you see the stupid phone can do 640 or 320 wide (plus bigger and smaller), but it can't do 480 wide. Which I think would fit.

Greg and Joan's house in NY

Okay it looks like big images also break the skin, and 480 is a little too wide for the main column on a multi-post page.

Now back to the highway...

Oops! Links in my 'link to url' field don't go to the post title in this skin.

A road trip test drive blog, meaning I take a road trip and check out b2evo v2. From PHX to ISP by ground. In an '05 Thunderbird without a map. Not that I don't know where I'm going - it's the thought that counts.
